How to troubleshoot Norton error 12152 code?

Remove the conflicting program

If you have any program which is conflicting with your Norton then uninstall it. If you are getting the Norton error while installing the error then check all the installed programs on your device. This error mostly appears when you have another antivirus on your device. Antivirus can conflict while installing another antivirus program on the device.

So, you must uninstall another antivirus from the device and then install Norton antivirus. Press the Windows button and type Apps on the search bar. Press the Enter button and you will see all the installed applications on your device.

Click the program you want to delete and choose the uninstall button. You may have to follow some on-screen wizards for completing the uninstallation process. Then restart your device and try to install Norton on your device.  

Repair your registry files

Norton error 12152 can also occur when your registry files get corrupted. These files get easily corrupted due to runtime errors. Repairing the registry files can also fix your error. But fixing the files manually is difficult. If you are from the technical background then create an error backup first and then edit the registry file. Follow the steps given below for creating a backup key:

  1. Press the Windows button and type command on the search bar
  2. Hold Ctrl and Shift keys
  3. Press the Enter button
  4. You will get a permission prompt on your device
  5. Click on the Yes option
  6. A command prompt (black box with blinking cursor) will appear the screen

Type regedit on the command prompt and press the Enter button

The registry file will appear on the screen. Now go to the error related registry and save the file with .reg extension. You should save the file on the desktop so you can find it easily while repairing the registry file. If you are not from the technical background then you should ask the technical team for help.

Clean out the junk from your device

If your device is running sluggishly and an error appears while scanning Norton antivirus then you should remove the junk from your PC. Temporary files seem harmless but these files not only accumulate the free disk space but also corrupt your various processes. Delete all the temporary files and your browser junk from the device. Use a system cleanup tool for removing the junk from the PC. You can follow the on-screen commands for cleaning the system junk:

  1. Click on the start menu and type command on the search bar
  2. Hold Ctrl and Shift keys and press the Enter button
  3. A permission prompt will appear
  4. Click on Yes button 
  5. The command prompt will display on the screen
  6. Type cleanmgr and press Enter button

The clean manager tool will appear on the desktop. Check all the items can delete from the PC. Press the OK button and then restart your device. Now run the scan and check whether your Norton error 8504 gets resolved or not. If not, ask the Norton team for help.
