Huawei Matebook x pro VS Macbook pro

Huawei Matebook x pro VS Macbook pro

I recently got my hands on Huawei’s newly launched MateBook X Pro laptop. It’s a Windows-based machine in an ultrabook form factor with a stunning 13.9-inch 3: 2 minimal bezel display. At first glance, it looks very MacBook inspired, almost like a mix between the 12-inch MacBook and the MacBook Pro. Many people curious about the comparison between both laptops. Let’s take a look to both laptops and take idea which is best.

Both of these laptops come with a variety of specific configurations to choose from, but the bottom line is that they are two very powerful computers, no matter what specifics you choose. You’re definitely shopping at the higher end of the market with the Huawei MateBook X Pro and Apple MacBook Pro – this is reflected in the pricing, but it also means you won’t notice any slowdowns or performance issues on these laptops for a long time to come. The configurations for the Huawei MateBook X Pro are slightly easier to understand: an 8th Gen Intel Core i7 or an 8th Gen Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB or 16GB of RAM, 256GB or 512GB of internal storage, and Intel UHD Integrated Graphics 620 or an integrated Nvidia GeForce MX150. At best, it’s a tough laptop to beat in terms of power and performance.

Display:

Both machines have different display characteristics. Let’s discuss them both gradually.

Huawei matebook x pro:

By opening the laptop, you can appreciate how thin it is. The 13-inch screen has incredibly narrow bezels. The screen itself is also superb, with a “2K” resolution of 3,000 x 2,000 and a 3: 2 aspect ratio. This means it is taller than a 16: 9 widescreen display, making it useful for word processing, paper for work and for reading websites. The extra height makes a noticeable difference, in a good way, and that goes for other laptops and tablets with similar displays, like the Microsoft Surface Pro 7.

With a contrast ratio of 1,500: 1 and a maximum brightness of 450 nits, the Huawei MateBook X (2020) screen offers decent image quality. And with 100% sRGB color gamut support, it should be able to display truly stunning images. We found that it works well in direct sunlight (there’s even a light sensor to adjust the screen brightness depending on the ambient lighting you’re using it in) and the contrast is good – blacks are nice and dark, with light colors that offer decent brightness.

Macbook pro:

With Apple you get a 13.3-inch or a 15.4-inch display, with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels or 2880 x 1800 pixels. The 13.3-inch weighs 1.37 kg (3.02 lbs) and is 14.9 mm (0.59 inches) thin when closed, while the 15.4-inch weighs 1.83 kg (4.03 lbs) and is 15.5 mm (0.61 inches) thin when closed.

On the Apple side, you have two MacBook Pro sizes and multiple combinations of specs to choose from. Apple don’t have touchscreen laptop.
