Has Technology Made Us More Astute Than We Actually Are?

The contemporary era has been immensely favourable for the people who live in it.

The 2-year-old toddlers learning about the world through gadgets;

The 70-year-old, who can have the energy levels and appearance beyond their age,

Everyone is basking in the luxury that is the 21st century.

Have you ever wondered why?

The answer can simply be found in technology. It is all that technology offers us that is making life more enjoyable for us.

We can do things and perform tasks that were never possible in the past because of it.

We have become smarter and more astute because of it.

And we are living the best life because of it.

Here are four reasons why that is the case.

Intelligence

The first on the list is intelligence. Do you not think that technology has made us much more intelligent than we ever?

A 3-year-old will sing rhymes like a pro, having memorised all of them by repeatedly listening on YouTube.

An 11-year-old will be able to write a paper on British Rule in India because of his search on Google.

A 35-year-old can decide on a shrewd business strategy because he has the tools to evaluate market trends and make projections for the future.

Tell me now; do you not think these are the signs of intelligence? People have mainly acquired this intelligence through accumulating knowledge; a knowledge that people have only been able to obtain through technology.

Search engines and social media are the most significant contributors to this feat. Anything that can be known will be known through a simple search on Google.

Fitness

In a world, where the majority of the population is living a sedentary life, maintaining a standard of fitness becomes an arduous task that majority fail to accomplish.

People needed a helping hand to save them from being unhealthy and avoid stepping into a future that is full of ailments and medical treatments.

And technology came to aid, with the inception of fitness centres that are equipped with state-of-the-art equipment.

  • Treadmills
  • Cross trainers
  • Ellipticals
  • Aerobic Bikes

These four are bound to in every gym. Today, people have also started to purchase such equipment for their homes, so that they can begin to their workouts in their homes itself and never miss a day, even in bad weather.

In the present pandemic, if you have a treadmill in your home, you would probably be called the luckiest of us all.

Youth

If I asked you what are or were the best years of your life, what would you say? Many would say childhood and equally as many would say their youth, the 20s and 30s.

Therefore, people always reminisce about this period of their life, and if it were to them, they would never let themselves age.

And that is what technology can do for you; it can keep your youth for a long-long time. Looking like 40, when you are pushing 60 is that difficult a task for technology.

This piece of technology is called plastic surgery.

Botox can make your wrinkles and fine lines vanish in thin air.

Hair cloning can make your receding line; an aspect of ageing you need not pay too much heed to.

Blepharoplasty can easily remove the under-eye puffiness and bags that develop as you age.

These are a few secrets that are used by the eminent celebrities. From Madonna to Jennifer Aniston, everyone has had their fair share of plastic.

And this is the concoction of ageing gracefully, a term more appropriate for plastic surgery than the natural kind.

Infallibility

To err is to human is a common proverb that we have all heard once and been the victim of every so often. Humans are bound to make mistakes.

There is a lot that the human eye cannot see and the human brain cannot detect, so mistakes are inevitable.

However, technology has removed even the minutest chance of errors from our work.

CT Scan and MRIs have made it possible for doctors to know if the patient has a blood clot or internal injury to improve his chances at the surgical table.

Cloud Computing Accounting has made it possible for the accountants to manage the enormous feat of looking after the bills payable and receivables of a company without errors.

Manufacturing Units using high-tech machinery to make a batch that is identical and any flawed product is discarded there and then.

Would any of this have been possible without technology and all its innovations? Think about it.

Winding Up

Technology and its paraphernalia have ingrained themselves in our life, so much so that imaging a life without it is implausible.

People would do anything to get its latest equipment to ease their lives as much as they and the ones who take very bad credit loans with no guarantor and no broker for the same are proof of that.

I am not, by any means, saying that this vogue wrong. Much like most of my writing, I am stating this fact only to praise technology and the people who take it up.

If a loan can help you get the best of technology and the best of life, I do not think there is anything inapt in that. You should take it after all a loan is worth the satisfaction of the need it fulfils.

I would end by saying that yes, technology has indeed made us better versions of ourselves and much advanced than the previous generations. Who do you think is more astute at dealing with the present competition, you or your dad?
