Powerful Mantra to Manage Pregnancy and Postpartum Depression

Pregnancy is an unforgettable experience for most women. First of all, the thought that one can nurture life within one’s body is very empowering. But one also feels vulnerable as one is solely responsible for the baby’s safety until it emerges from the womb. Sometimes, after the birth of the child, the mother may suffer from post-partum depression. This can not only prevent the mother from caring for the baby properly, but it can also rob her of the joys of motherhood.

This is a double whammy for new mothers. If you have been struggling with this issue, you will be glad to know that there are certain mantras that can help with this condition. Reciting these mantras will help you to deal with anxiety and stress when caring for your baby.

Let’s see what these mantras are, what they mean, and how they help you and your baby.

Sri Gopala Sahasranama Stotram

gopa-svaami gokulendro

daataa daaridrya-bhanjanaah

Meaning: Oh! Master of the cowherds, the one who grants wishes and protects all beings. Lord! Burn away poverty.

Lord Krishna can be invoked by chanting the above mantra, and you can request him to grant you a wish. Through this mantra, you can ask him to protect your baby and destroy anything that can harm the baby.

Ramcharitmanas Chaupai

mangala bhavana amangala haari

dravahu sudasaratha ajira bihaari

deen dayaal virad smabhaari

harahu naath mama sankata bhaari

Meaning: Dasaratha’s dear son, who frolicked in his courtyard, you are the one who destroyed evil and the abode of all goodness. You are the one who protects the powerless and eradicates all obstacles. As the Vedas say, remove any harm that may cross my path.

Through this mantra, you can invoke Rama and ask him to safeguard your pregnancy from complications. You can also ask him to support you during the nine months of pregnancy and destroy anything that can harm your child.

Maa Durga Mantra

sarva mangala maangalye

shive sarvaartha saadhike

sharanye tryambake gauri

naraayani namo-stute

Meaning: We bow and worship Goddess Gauri, who signifies auspiciousness and goodness. She is the one who helps achieve desires, provides refuge, and is the mother of all three worlds.

Through this mantra, you can invoke Goddess Gauri, a form of Maa Durga. You place on her the responsibility of protecting yourself, trusting that she will help you face all obstacles.

Gayatri Mantra

om bhur bhuvah swah

tat-savitur varenyam

bhargo devasya dheemahi

dhiyo yonah prachodayat

Meaning: We chant and meditate on the ancient energies and the Sun to inspire our physical, mental, and spiritual selves. We request the Lord to destroy our sins and enlighten our minds.

Through this mantra, you can seek wisdom and intellect for yourself as well as your unborn child. This will ensure a balanced physical, mental, and spiritual life for both. You meditate upon the ever-giving Sun, the creator of existence, to destroy all suffering and guide you in your journey of life.

All you must do is spare a few minutes every day to chant these mantras. The first three mantras should be recited 21 times, while the Durga Gayatri Mantra can be recited 12 times. Prayer beads or even the segments of your fingers can be used to count. Take some deep breaths at first to help you relax. Focus on the baby growing in your womb and begin. His can be done at least 5 times a week until you deliver a healthy and beautiful baby.

By chanting these powerful mantras, you will be able to reduce your stress levels and enable the positive energies on earth to flow toward you and your baby.
