How to Fix Avast SecureLine VPN Not Working

Check Internet Connectivity

Check Subscriptions & Notifications

Turn OFF Antivirus Services

Try Clean Boot

Press Win + R, type MSConfig, and hit Enter. Go to the Services tab and put a check on ‘Hide All Microsoft Services’ at the bottom. Now you will be left with a few services on the list. Click on Disable All button at the bottom. (Please see if there is any service that is related to your keyboard, touchpad, mouse, or internet, turn them back ON).

Restart the computer to get it into clean boot mode and check if the VPN client works. If it works fine, we will need to come back to the same screen and turn ON the services one by one and restart repeatedly to check which service is blocking the connection. This will take multiple restarts after turning ON the services one by one. You can also go to the Startup tab, click on open Task Manager, and disable services to check the connectivity.

Reinstall the Avast VPN

If this doesn’t work. We can also try to reinstall Avast VPN to fix Avast SecureLine VPN not working issue. It’s easy to uninstall and reinstall the program and this will get the VPN to its default settings.

Press Win + R, type appwiz.cpl, and hit Enter. Look for Avast SecureLine VPN, click on it and then click on the ‘Uninstall’ button at the top of the list. Restart the computer and install the program again with the setup file. Configure the settings and select a server to connect. Check if it works or gives you the same message that results in Avast SecureLine VPN not working.
