How can You Get Addmission in NRI Academy of Medical Sciences?

NRI Academy of Medical Sciences (ANNAS) is the pioneer medical college in Andhra Pradesh, India. It was established in 1989 and is accredited by the Medical Council of India. It is one of three medical colleges in Guntur District; other colleges are in Chembra and Vizag. It offers both online and classroom coursework for medical students aspiring to become doctors.

The main aim of the NRI Academy of Medical Sciences is to provide quality education in all aspects of medicine and allied health. This academy has established a strong reputation in the academic world due to its dedication towards this cause. They offer four different education levels, namely, Doctorate, MBA, Master in Medical Science (MMS), and PhD. The four groups are suitable for those who wish to become pre-medical students, post-graduate students, junior doctors, senior doctors, and professors.

The main objective of the NRI academy is to set up six medical colleges. These colleges provide all the facilities needed by the students coming from diverse countries. They include the library, faculty lounge, parking space, and cafeteria. All these facilities are available throughout the year. Besides, the colleges also conduct annual clinics to enhance students’ knowledge and make them aware of their responsibilities towards their profession.

Get admission in NRI academy of medical school

An aspiring student interested in becoming a pre-medical student should complete his/her graduation from any of the following institutions: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT Delhi), Deccan University, Jamia Millia Islamia, Indian Medical College, Hyderabad Medical College, and Indian School of Surgery and Research (ISVR). A student wishing to pursue a specialization in orthopaedics can complete his/her graduation from any of the following institutions: Joint Commission International (JCI), American School of Orthopedics, American Physical Therapy Association, Asian Board Medical College, and Institute of Medicine, Bangalore. Students wishing to pursue a degree in neurosurgery can complete his/her graduation from any of the following colleges: Indian Institute of Technology, Allopathic Medical Institute, and Rishikesh Polytechnic, Srinagar. Finally, post-graduate students studying to become physiotherapists can complete their graduation from the Institute of Medicine, Hyderabad.

After gaining admittance into one of these medical sciences colleges, the students must undergo intensive training as per their degree of choice. Courses include lectures, literature review, demonstrations, discussions, practicals, rotations, supervision, seminars on human anatomy, physiology and pathology, diagnostic procedures, nursing knowledge, diagnostic skills, surgical skills, and leadership. At the end of the program, the student stands eligible for either a diploma or degree. For those students opting for degree courses, there are two types of NRI Academy of Medical Sciences:

General Practice: In this form of the medical course, the pre-medical students opt for elective courses to gain credits after passing their initial surgical training. These include neuroanatomy, histopathology, endocrinology, cardiology, gastroenterology, gastroenteritis, haematology, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, and surgery. Apart from earning a b.sc in dermatology and surgery, students can also opt for other courses in the NRI Academy of Medical Sciences (NriAPS) curriculum. Courses include cardiac surgery, adult respiratory surgery, pediatric surgery, laser surgery, pathology, radiology, and gastroenterology.

Post graduate diploma in medical Sciences: 

Postgraduate Diploma: The post-graduate diploma course in dermatology and surgery is offered to candidates who have obtained their initial doctorate and wish to pursue an independent career. The graduation prerequisites are a b.sc in dermatology and surgery from an institution approved by the NRI Academy of Medical Sciences; a three-year post-graduate residency program from a recognized institute of medicine approved by the NRI academy. Students who do not pass the initial entrance exam are eligible for the subsequent four-year course. The first four-year course is offered through the NRI Academy of Medical Sciences and aims to prepare students for specific clinical experience.

The NRI Academy of Medical Sciences also offers courses for the PhD in Neuroanatomy, Biosciences and Biomedicine. The PhD course in Neuroanatomy is meant to prepare students to handle neurological patients in rehabilitation settings. The NRI Academy of Medical Sciences also offers courses in Clinical Pathology, Cardiology, Dermatology, diagnostic medicine, and Gastroenterology under Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Medicine’s main specialization. The NRI Academy of Medical Sciences also offers a post-graduate diploma in paediatrics and neonatology under its Diploma in Pediatrics and Neonatology programme.
