There are gifted students who highly values leadership and independence, but being separated from their peers may lead to isolation and fewer ways to alleviate stress. Finding a peer is often difficult, particularly for adolescents. Some experience a conflict between belonging to academic and using their extraordinary abilities.
How Can Gifted Students Deal With Stress?
- Change the source of the strain. Do something else for a short time. They can put down their study notes or books then go for a jog.
- Confront the source of stress.
- Ask the teacher to give an extension on a project. Sit down with the person driving you crazy and mention ways you could possibly better work together with other classmates or peers.
- Talk about the source of stress. Rid yourself of frustration. Find a good listener and complain. Talk through possible solutions.
- Shift your perspective. Tell yourself that every new situation or problem is a new challenge, which means there is something to be learned from every experience.
- Discover skills that can make the tasks easier with successful outcomes. Practice effective organization and time-management skills. For instance, large projects are easier and fewer overwhelming when weakened into manageable steps. Learn to type and revise assignments on a word processing system. study yourself and your priorities, and use that knowledge to form decisions. Find out how to mention “no” gracefully when someone offers you another attractive (or unpleasant) task about which you’ve got a choice to make. Tell yourself that this unpleasantness is going to be over soon which the entire process will bring you closer to reaching your goal. Mark the times that are left on the calendar, and focus on crossing out all as you near the finish.
- Take an outing for enjoyable activities. Everyone needs a network. Find friends, teachers, or relatives with whom you’ve got fun. Spend time with these people once you are often yourself and put aside the pressures of work or difficult relationships. As a reward for your efforts, give yourself work breaks. Listen to a good song, play a sport, or do any other activity that will alleviate the stress

Physical activity not only provides a great way to go exercise but also changes your body chemistry as you burn off muscle tension built up from accommodating stress. Exercise also increases resistance to illness. Nutritious food and regular meals help regulate your body chemistry and keep you working at your sharpest. Eating healthy and attractively prepared food is often a pleasant activity on its own.
