The most basic iCloud plan is free, but you can choose from premium storage plans if you have a lot of files. These are reasonably priced, allowing you to store a lot of data for a small monthly fee. 

4. Consider Other Cloud-Based Storage Platforms 

If for, whatever reason, you don’t want to use iCloud, you can always look into using a different storage platform.

Google Drive is one option that many people prefer to use. Like iCloud, it syncs across all your devices, meaning that you can upload something on your computer then access it from your phone.

There are also different storage plans and prices that you can consider choosing. 

Again, just make sure that you don’t use the Google cloud as your virtual junk drawer. Ensure that you take the time to extend your organizational system to your files in the cloud as well. 

5. Get an External Hard Drive 

If you want to stay away from the cloud altogether, then you can always look into getting an old-school external hard drive. 

Hard drives are great for dumping files onto them, especially if those files are large. Many people use external hard drives for storing things like movies that would otherwise take up too much space on their computers.

Storage sizes range from hundreds of gigabytes to hundreds of terabytes. Decide what you’re going to use your external hard drive for, then use that to help you determine which size you should get.

6. Use the Multiple Desktops Feature 

Most Mac users don’t realize that they can have multiple Desktops on their computers. This allows you to store files on one screen that don’t show up on the next one. You can create up to sixteen additional workspaces in Mission Control. 

This sort of system is great for having Desktops that serve different purposes. For example, you can have one that you use for work-related tasks and files and another that’s for everything else.
