Change Your Device Offline Status

Check iPad networks and printer.

The printer and iPad must be on the same network to print the credentials. Follow these steps to compare network names:

  • On the printer, use the up and down buttons to select WLAN> WLAN Status> Infrastructure Mode from the setup menu. Click OK].
  • Next to the SSID, find the network name. This is the network that the printer is connected to.
  • On the iPad
  • Go to Settings> wifi.
  • You will see the network name under “Connected.”

If your iPad and printer both are connected to different networks, you will need to determine which one is correct. Then change the iPad or printer network accordingly. You can also use printer offline.

  • It’s easiest to change the wifi network on the iPad (you can do this from the Settings app on the iPad).
  • To change the printer network, you will need to go through the setup steps again.

If your iPad was recently updated to iOS 14, you need to make sure that the Local Area Network is enabled.

  • On an iPad, go to Settings.
  • Search for visitors to the Envoy
  • Make sure the local area network is turned on.

Check the printer’s IP address.

  1. On the printer, use the up and down  buttons to select WLAN> WLAN Status> Infrastructure Mode from the setup menu. Click OK].
  2. Next to the IP address, you will see the IP address. It will be a series of numbers separated by periods (Ex: 192.168.1.44 or 10.0.1.23).
  3. On your computer, log into Envoy and go to Visitors> Devices> Printers.
  4. Find the status of the printer device on your site.
  5. Find the IP address. Compare the IP address shown here with the address shown on the printer screen.

• If different, tap on the three dots at the top right> Edit IP address and edit the IP address to match the one displayed on the printer screen.

Check your Bluetooth connection.

  1. On an iPad, go to Settings> Bluetooth> Forget This Device.
  2. On the printer, use the [▲] and [▼] buttons to select Bluetooth> Bluetooth (On / Off)> On in the setting menu. Press OK]
  3. Press the [] button to return to the main screen. You should see the Bluetooth icon in the upper right corner.
  4. Go back to iPad and go to Settings> Bluetooth. Under Devices, find Brother QL-820NWBxxxx, such as “Brother QL-820NWB1234”.
  5. Close Settings and open the Envoy Visitors Kiosk app on your iPad.

Brother QL-720NW, wifi, or Ethernet

  1. Press and hold the Crop button on the printer until the decals start printing. Five decals will be printed.
  2. In the fifth panel, find <NAME (SSID)>.
  3. Next to <NAME (SSID)>, find the network name. This is the network that the printer is connected to.
  4. On your computer, go to your devices page.
  5. Find the status of the iPad on your site.
  6. Next to wifi, search for the network name. This is the network your iPad is connected to.

If your iPad and printer are connected to different networks, you will need to determine which one is correct. Then change the iPad or printer network accordingly.

  • It’s easiest to change the wifi network on the iPad (you can do this from the Settings app on the iPad).
  • To change the printer network, you will need to go through the setup steps again.

Check the printer’s IP address.

  1. Press and hold the crop button until the decals start printing. Five decals will be printed. Ignore the first three.
  2. On the fourth panel, find the IP address line. It will be a series of numbers separated by periods (Ex: 192.168.1.44 or 10.0.1.23).
  3. Note that if your IP address starts with 169.254, the printer will not provide a valid IP address. If this happens, then you may need to reset the printer to factory settings in order for it to connect properly.
  4. On your computer, log into Envoy and go to Visitors> Devices> Printers.
  5. Find the status of the printer device on your site.
  6. Find the IP address. Compare the IP address shown here with the address shown on the printer screen.

• If different, tap on the three dots at the top right> Edit IP address and edit the IP address to match the one displayed on the printer screen.
