How to reach Kedarkantha

The Kedarkantha Trek base camp is Sankri. You need to get to Sankri from Dehradun in order to enter Kedarkantha. Sankri is about 200 km from Dehradun, and this hilly trail takes about 8 to 10 hours.

You can opt for a government bus from the bus station Mussoorie to enter Kedarkantha from Dehradun at 8 am (just outside Dehradun Railway Station). In about ten hours, the bus drops you in Sankri.

Sankri from Dehradun can also be boarded by taxi. There are many cabs leasing from the Dehradun to Sankri in the morning, either at the same Mussoorie Bus Stand or Dehradun ISBT. And you will part your cab fare with your traveling companions if you arrive early and board one of them. But if you’re a little late, you’ll probably not find Sankri’s co-travelers and you could all have to bear the cab fare by yourself.

Dehradun is easily accessible by train with major cities in India such as Delhi, Lucknow, Kolkata, etc. It takes approximately 10 hours by road from Dehradun to Sankri.

It’s pretty quick to get there. The tour starts from the village of Sankri which is around 210 km long by car from 10-11 hour. From Dehradun. From Dehradun. It takes four days to hit the peak and return to the village of Sankri. There is a nice motorway to Sankri; after this you go through the picturesque countryside.

Kedarkantha Trek Length

The length of the Kedarkantha walk is 20 km, covered over the course of 6 days. Kedarkantha Trek is a moderate to complex walk that can also be undertaken by beginners or beginners when they have the basic fitness level. A further 4 km to the base camp of Kedarkantha is the trek from Sankri to Juda Ka Talab. You will trek for a total of 6 km from Basecamp to Summit to Hargaon the following day. You will be treking to a distance of 6 km from Hargaon on your return to Sankri.
